Sixties Girl

Me being a total lover of sixties fashion couldn't help but look at youtube for inspiration. This is what I found.

So now, I need to find out how to make/buy a bubble dress with legholes (no underwear showing) and a convertible boot/bootie.

This next video is just for fun.

The Ritz-Carlton

I was spending the last couple of days in the hospital because my mom was having surgery, so while I was waiting with my bf, we took pictures.

We were talking to this one guy who reminded me of my uncle in the cafeteria. His mom is in a nursing home and every so often she has an attack where she has to go to the Huntington Memorial hospital. Him and his sister call Huntington Memorial "the Ritz" and her nursing home "Motel 6". I thought that was funny.. but seriously, this hospital looked like a hotel.

Things I want

So.. looking at forever 21's website makes me want a lot of things. I usually browse online at forever 21 before I go and buy it in the store because the forever 21 in pasadena is HUGE and I can't shop there unless I find what I like first. This first dress is like this Jovovich-hawk dress I tried on at lohemann's a couple days ago.. but it looks like it has better quality because the one I tried on was completely see-through. I especially like this dress because of it's really cool back.

here is the Jovovich-hawk one

Another dress I've been looking for about a year is a short, off-sleeve type of dress in a jewel tone. I got inspired from Sienna Miller in Alfie(my favorite movie style-wise) where she wears this type of dress with a floppy hat and a furry vest (I have both of these). I really like Sienna Miller, and although people think she's a horrible person because she cheats.. blah blah.. I believe that everyone is human and she is an amazing actress/stylista.

Forever 21 top/dress

Lastly, here is this dress from Forever 21 that reminds me of the Gucci fall 2008 RTW collection.

So.. let's see what I get.

Today, I matched my dog

If you were wondering, I get my inspiration from my daily outfits from anything and everything around me. It could be from a certain texture, furniture, a print, a flower, or a sailboat. Today, I got my inspiration from my dog. I just bought my dog a new harness (because he wheezes everytime a try to stop him from peeing on everything when we go on walks) and to go with that, a new leash. They had only a limited number of color/leash combinations (and he's a boy dog so I didn't want him to look girly) so, I ended up picking an orange harness and a rainbow leash. Today, on our walk, I decided to match him!

The Actual American Apparel Flea Market

So, here's the update of the actual American Apparel Flea Market. In total, there was probably 100,000 people there the whole day (at least).. and I'm not even counting the alley that I was too tired to venture into. I waited 5 hours in line and bought 3 items (a shirt for my mom and 2 dresses). And I feel like they were kind of lying about the whole "all apparel from $1" because the only thing that was $1 that I saw was the water they were selling to the people in line. I saw a couple people that I've seen before who work for American Apparel.. like the CEO and that grey-haired creepy-looking guy that shows up in the American Apparel pictures oogling the other young girls. My friend and I were also asked to become employees for the company (yes, I signed up...50% discount!).. and this little boy in front of us in line was recruited to be a model (Now I know where they find them!). Anyways.. enough rambling. PICTURES!

Here is the dress I bought (and now love!)

American Apparel Flea Market

American Apparel is having a flea market this Sunday, June 27th. It starts at 2PM and it costs $5 to get in. There's an early bird price for $12 at 12 PM. There's going to be snowcones and a moonbounce and a BBQ.. all that good stuff. Some bands will be playing. American apparel is selling clothes for as low a $1. It's at the Factory store on the corner of 7th and Alameda (the Alameda exit off the 10 freeway) in Downtown Los Angeles. Hope to see you there!
